Hey y'all!

So I am barely able to keep my eyes open as I type this lol. Night one of Kansas City Fashion Week is a wrap! I was so amazed at all the talent that was present their tonight.. which, you will be able to see in a later blog post.

Tonight was all about me stepping out of my comfort zone and letting my inner "Glam" out. I have always been a stickler for fashion and having a "Vogue like" wardrobe, but... after having kids, that wardrobe has consisted mostly of yoga pants and tank tops lol.

Check my YouTube Channel for this tutorial!
GRWM
I mean don't get me wrong, I still have some gems tucked away in that closet... I just don't get to utilize them as much as I would like! Tonight however, I made an extra effort to be #ThatGirl.  I felt confident, glamourous and for once, I felt like an actual adult doing adult things that didn't consist of paying bills, doing laundry or organizing social activities. I was at an event with heels, a full BEAT face and an outfit that literally stopped people in their tracks!

Now, I do apologize for the lack of quality photos. I mean what kind of blogger am I? I go to an event and LEAVE MY SD CARD! I had no way of taking any photos outside of my iPhone.

So, here is tonight's look!

This looks is so simple yet eye catching! I paired my favorite maroon dress with nude heels and minimal accessories. I then added drama with a faux fur collar! I kept my hair straight and sleek for a more high fashion look.

COME THROUGH RING LIGHT!

Can I be basic for once and take a bathroom Celfie lol

I can't wait for night two! What did you think of my look? Let me know in the comments below!

Hey y'all

"The time has come,' the Walrus said,
      To talk of many things:
Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —
Of cabbages — and kings —
And why the sea is boiling hot —
And whether pigs have wings."- Lewis Carroll

I don't know why that excerpt has always been a favorite of mine but it has. I mostly think it's because I love to talk about "many things". But yes, the time has come! I am the big 3-0 today! (insert cheers and applause)
I have finally hit that one milestone in my life I have been so excited to reach! This milestone is a little bittersweet because my hubs isn't here to celebrate with me... but overall I am excited this day has come!
I recently wrote a blog post about the things I learned leading up to my 30th birthday which a few people have said "it was inspiring"... so thanks guys! If you haven't had a chance to read all that "insightful" stuff lol, head over to this post I did about 29 Things I learned in 29 Years!
Or, if you are wondering what I put on my birthday wishlist, you can check it out HERE!

When I sat down and thought about what I could do to celebrate this milestone, I knew I wanted to do something different, something fun, something that shows me for who I am. So, I decided to do a photo shoot! I wanted to let go and have fun! I also wanted to do something memorable and that I could eventually put in a scrapbook or hang around my house one day!

When I was planning my photo shoot, I was very nervous. I haven't lost all the weight that I gained after Italy plus moving back to KC made me really sad in the beginning, so I ate those feelings.. Terrible I know! But I still wanted to do this photoshoot! One night while planning I asked my husband "just how well can you work photoshop?". His response was what gave me to confirmation that this is what I should do. He said, "You don't need photoshop, let the world see the real you and they will love you.".  EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO GRAB A TISSUE!

Ok, I'm back..

My husband saying that gave me the confidence I needed to really let loose and enjoy my photoshoot, which was also the day he left to go out of town... I needed all fun and happiness I could get that day lol.

So... for all the world to see, here are my photos.. THIS IS 30!

Thai's birthday is 10 days before mine, of course we had to do something SPECIAL!

God gave me a crown, and I am determined to keep it!

Your face when you are about to turn 30!

These next photos were so important to me! Not only was (and is) this my favorite movie, but I always felt like my goals and dreams were bigger than Kansas ( or really the midwest in general). When I moved to Texas in 2006, I remember telling my advisors I was from Kansas.. their reply " Honey, you're not in Kansas anymore!". I felt like I had finally made it over the rainbow and on to see bigger things! Even though I traveled back to KC to be with my step-daughter, my heart always tells me that I am a Texas girl at heart!

So there you have it! This is Officially 30! Thank you to all those that have been brave enough to go with me on this journey, thank you to those that have left my life and allowed me to flourish.... and thank you to my husband, the one that hears me laugh, cry and thank God daily. Without you, I wouldn't be me!
Thank you for reading and as always, if you have something to say.. let me know in the comments below!

Hey Y'all!

Man, time is really going by fast! We are already starting to prepare for the Spring Holy days and second, my little special baby is turning 10! This is so crazy!!
You would think that I would be ok with having another 10 year old, but the truth is.. having half of your in-house kid population 10 or older has been heartbreaking lol. My babies are all growing up and it is a matter of time before the younger two are starting to enter those dreaded pre-teen years as well.

Any way! Last year I started an online scrapbook for my kiddos! Every year on their birthday, I plan to post a recent photo and interesting facts about them. Want to see Thai's post and how much she has changed from last year? Check it out HERE!

Thailand is the sweetest and kindest little girl I have ever met! She is constantly putting others wants and needs before hers. At times she can be a little bossy ( but what girls aren't lol), but she always does the right thing in the end. Seeing her flourish in life is nothing short of inspiring!

So! To celebrate little Thai turning 10, here are 10 things about her!

1. My favorite subjects are math, science, music and P.E.
2. My favorite show is Sonic Boom and Sonic X and Proud Family.
3. My favorite food is  salad.
4. My favorite color is red.
5. My favorite sport is tennis. I really want to learn how to play.
6. My favorite toys are shopkins and dolls.
7. I love puppies and I want one!
8. I love cooking with my mommy, daddy and my older sister.
9. I like to read.
10. Ten is going to be fun and hard.

My little Thailand has changed so much throughout this year! Every day that goes by, I see her try harder and harder to be the best Thailand she can be.

Thailand, if you happen to read this when you are older, just know that we all love you and we are so proud of all the things you have accomplished! We will always be there when you need us and even when you don't! Congratulations on turning the big 10!

What milestone has your child hit that you are so proud of? Let me know in the comments below!

Hey y'all!

Man, I really wish Spring would show it's pretty face soon! Here it is, March and it snowed last week! I mean really KC.. REALLY!? I am so over this cold weather!

"I received these products from Esqido complimentary in exchange for a review. All opinions are honest and my own"

But on to a positive note, recently I was contacted from the PR team over at Esqido. If you haven't heard of Esqido, they are a fairly new company specializing in Mink Lashes. Once I was contacted I immediately went to their site and scoured Instagram to see what others were thinking and if they were legit.  I mean we all do this I'm sure lol.

Anyway, one I seen the lashes and read up on them, I knew I just had to try them to fully know for myself. So after spending hours comparing the  different styles and arguing with my husband why I needed which pairs.. I placed my order!

When I got the package (which was fairly quickly), I was shocked to see just how well they were packaged. A lot of lashes you get from the store or online come in a box pressed behind some plastic. Not these! These lashes were in beautiful cases that would keep the lashes protected and forsure reduce any chance of damage.

I received the "Gina" lashes and the "Voila" lashes along with a tube of glue. Y'all, the glue looked just as nice as the package that the lashes came in!

Each lash seemed to just fit perfectly on my eyes and it really didn't take much to adjust them either. The glue was mess free with a brush applicator that allowed me to control where and how much I was using.

Over all these lashes are officially my favorite lashes! I honestly love the fact that I was able to try them out and really see the quality of these mink lashes. If you would like to learn more about the company, products or connect with them, you can visit their website HERE!

Check out my before and after photos below! Also, want to see them in action? Check out my Get Ready With Me video on YouTube!
