Brigette Danielle

Hello lovely people! As you may know this past week was my 29th birthday! I celebrated in true "FASHION" lol because I had the amazing privilege of covering two runway show for Kansas City Fashion Week!

Pause for my crazy happy dance!

I met some of the coolest local bloggers during a media meet and greet and rubbed elbows with some of Kansas City's chicest people at the Bubbly + Bow Ties cocktail party! There were tons of great vendors and supports through out the entire week. It truly was a great production!

Want to see some of the vendors and the amazing swag I received from them!? Check out my instagram @bybrigettedanielle!

There were so many beautiful designs, gorgeous models and amazing talent! There were just soooo many things that I loved about KCFW and it was hard to choose just one collection to talk about...

But, I wanted to choose 1 from each night and the collection "Oliviet" by Tobie Marie really touched me!

For one her inspiration was from the iconic First Lady, Jackie Onassis Kennedy and 2 I love the 60's!. Needless to say this collection was beautifully created and I can not wait to order my girls these dresses!

Take a look at these beautiful designs!

Want more from Tobie Marie?! Check out her instagram @tobie_marie or her website "Oliviet" by Tobie Marie for more info!

Which was your favorite? I honestly cant decide lol

My baby is 9 today!!

So a while back I came across this amazing blog 2 Blonde Mamas and this adorable post about Alia's little one that turned 4!She made a form of scrapbook page that could be used to create a scrapbook, memory book or really whatever!  It was such  a great idea and I was inspired to start keeping an "online update" of all the kiddos on their birthday!

So, our first one to come up is Thailand!

sorry for the tacky picture, I forgot to save it first!

I like to call her my special baby :). She has been through so much, even before she was born! Her struggles and setbacks never keep her from trying hard and shining BRIGHT!. I truly believe she has made my faith stronger!

She has changed in so many ways. Even though all the changes are not always good ( attitude lol) she will always be my baby!

So, here are a few updates on the big 9!

Thailand likes;

1."I like dolls, legos, shopkins, movies, and drawing pictures"

2. "My favorite subjects in school are reading and math"

3  " My favorite colors are red and blue"

4. " My favorite foods are Chinese food, Mexican food and daddy's chicken"

5. " My current favorite book is The Baby Sitters Club (Raina Telgemeier version)

6.  "My favorite activity/ sport  is soccer, I can't wait to play this year"

7.  "My fave place is Texas"

8.  I asked her if she could have one wish come true it would be "get a dog"!

9.  I then asked her what does she think 9 years old will be like? " 9 will be like shopping more, more movies and my own phone!

If you know me you know Spring is my second favorite time of the year! There is so much about it that I love and look forward to Winter after Winter! Spring comes in second place for several reasons.. one being Fall is king and that will never change.
Spring is the perfect combination of warm and breezy! Not to mention it is one of the prettiest times of the year! But there are a few things that I just love about Spring! and they are:

1. Birthdays- My birthday and 3 of the kiddos were born in Spring. I am a March baby so March holds a place in my heart ;)

2. Spring Holy Days- Passover and Unleavened Bread are two of my favorite Holy Days! I love what they represent and the reminder of my journey as a Christian!

3. Flowers- Flowers are everywhere! The smell of the different flowers is like a light perfume for the world and I love it! Not to mention they brighten up the dreary trees that are coming back to life after Winter.

4. Extra Rain- Sure it rains in Fall but Spring showers are some of my favorites! The thunderstorms and rainbows are the perfect "refresher"!

5. Colors- Again, everything looks as if it has come back to life after Winter! The pinks, the yellows, blues and greens! There is color everywhere!

6. Cardigans and Dresses- I love boots and gloves but there is something refreshing about wearing a light cardigan and a perfect pink dress! Peep toe shoes are also a bonus!

7. Sunday Brunch- Really brunch is good ALL THE TIME! But a nice Spring brunch with fresh flowers, fresh fruit and light drinks go together like "peas and carrots" ( see what I did there lol). Spring Brunch really is one of the best things... EVER!

8. Play at the Park- The weather is cool enough to go to the park, enjoy a lunch and soak up some sun without sweating like crazy. I know I love the park and so do the kiddos!

9. Arboretum- My favorite is the Dallas Arboretum! But walking through an arboretum and seeing the flowers, ducks and people just having fun is more than perfect!

10. Peonies- I know I said flowers but these get a spot on the list all to themselves! Peonies are my absolute favorite flower! Especially the "Mrs. FDR". It is just gorgeous! If I could, I would have them in my home 24/7.

So..

There you have it! 10 of my favorite things about Spring time. If you are wondering, my birthday is March 29th ;) lol

What do you like/love about Spring? Let me know in the comments below!

my hubby took these photos and this one was an in the moment shot that I think turned out nice :)

Hey there my lovelies! It is February 28th already!! That's right we are already about to be 3 months deep into 2017... where has the time gone?!

Last week I celebrated my first ever Blogiversary! One year of many ups and downs for bybrigettedanielle.com, but I wouldn't change it! Well actually I would change a few things.

Like I have said before I consider myself a born again blogger. The first time was more for personal tracking and something to help me stay on the straight and narrow during my weight loss. As I would get frustrated with my weight and workouts, I would get stressed about blogging. No one was reading my journey, no one was there to help me or encourage me and I really just felt like what was doing was talking to myself.

But... now that I have decided to start blogging again, I went in with a whole new mind set. I didn't care if anyone would read (but I do care about all of you that do!) I wanted to do this for me and if people respond then that is an added bonus! Even though going in to my new blogging venture, I wish there was someone that would have coached me on platforms, hosts and all the technical terms... I still get confused! And also, I wish there was someone in the beginning to tell me what they learned. It wasn't until after I went live that the blogging world seemed to reveal itself. It seemed like every Pin was related to blogging. What to do when you start/ when you think about starting one and all the things that I have already done.

Well, after finally finding the juicy secrets, I realized that the secrets weren't really secrets! I have learned so much about blogging and getting my voice out there, and I felt it was only right to share it with y'all! So here we go!

1. Plan before you post- Making sure you have everything planned ahead makes blogging so much easier! From creating tons of quality posts all the way down to your color schemes. Organizing your ideas for your blog will same you tons of headaches later.

2. Content- Some bloggers say you need to write lengthy posts and others say you don't. I personally found that somewhere in the middle works best. You don't want your readers trying to plan a day to read your novel of a post and you don't want them to feel like it was a waste of time clicking your link. A great post is informative but yet it gets to the point. But most importantly, it has to be you!

3. Images- Yes images matter! Let's be honest, one of the main reasons you click on a blog post is because of the pictures! Taking great quality pictures will do a lot for your social media. presence! Plus of you don't have time to take great pictures, people actually do it for you and a lot of them are free! Just google stock photos!

4. Social Media/ Promoting- Having a blog is one thing, but social media is everything! These days social media is sometimes the only way to get something out.. FAST! So make sure you use all the majors ones (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook etc). And don;t be afraid to share your own work! I would always feel a little nervous when I would share my blog Facebook post on my personal. It would always feel like I was self promoting. But hey, now.... it has become one of my best promo tools! Hashtags, liking and commenting on others that are similar to your niche are great ways to get more traffic!

5. Groups- This one was a HUGE game changer!! If you are not in a Facebook group... get in one! Several of the bloggers I follow, recommended tons of groups( over 20) and after checking out each ones, I found ones that I enjoy and are suitable for what I need. So before you start posting, check Facebook for groups, just use keywords like blog, blogging, blog support and other keywords that are similar to your niche! Once you join make sure you read all the rules and get ready to promote you content!

Once I started uping my skills in these areas, my blog seemed to reach more and more people everyday! I hope these little tricks will help you grow your blog or social media presence. And again THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for reading, commenting, liking sharing, pinning you name it! This has been one exciting year, and I can't wait to see what year 2 has in store!

What did you learn your first year in blogging? Let me know in the comments below!
